WOIB Walkin’ Fun!

WOIB Walkers WOIB Walkers

We had perfect weather for the July 21st WOIB walk.

The sun was out in full glory.

I don’t know what the temperature was, but I know it was warm and beautiful and not too hot. If I were to guess, I’d say it was about 78° F which in my mind is just about perfect, especially for the middle of an extra warm summer.

We walked and talked for about 10,000 steps, 4 miles and 2 hours as 12 of us meandered through Kelsey Creek Farm and the surrounding neighborhood, including Wilburton Park.

It felt like a reunion of old friends, though most of us met for the first time.

Unlike these two who stood affectionately nosing each other’s rump. My sister called it,

Equine 69

But it was really sweet, clearly they were in love. And knew each other well.

Here we are enjoying part of the Power Line trail before escaping the sun and slipping back into the woods of Kelsey Creek Farm.

I LOVE these walks and getting to know the people who show up for them.

As I said to Kels yesterday, walking with others is a social experience that makes exercise go by fast. Before I knew it, we had walked about 4 miles up steps and hills, got my exercise in for the day and best of all, had 11 new friends.

Hope you’ll join us for the next WOIB/ Feet First/ Meetup walk in September, and thereafter on the 3rd Sunday of each month at 2:00PM. (The August walk is cancelled.) In the meantime…
