Walk On WOIB FF!

by Connie DeLaVergne on August 16, 2010

The turnout for the Sunday August 29 Group Walk was small · But it was great to Meet The Neighbors · We especially enjoyed the generous and lengthy Guided Tour of KBCS 91.3 FM Community Radio by General Manager, Steve Ramsey ·

I did not realize just how valuable a resource KBCS 91.3 fm is to King County.

Did you know it is the only community radio station in the Seattle area that gives voice to music you don’t get to hear anywhere else? They also host Democracy Now!

Thank you thank you thank you KBCS! For the tour, and just for being there! You are another Bellevue Gem that serves all of the Seattle area.

Please support KBCS 91.3 fm every way that you can.

Hi Paul, I’m sorry you and Jennie missed it too . . .

. . . Being the music enthusiast that you are, you would’ve loved the KBCS tour and meeting the General Manager, Steve Ramsey! He very generously gave us a lengthy tour of the radio station and patiently answered all of our questions. I had little idea what a valuable resource KBCS 91.3 fm is to King County. It is the only community radio station in the Seattle area that gives voice to music you won’t hear anywhere else. What a resource–for news too–Democracy Now! is playing today at 3PM, for example. If people only knew how truly valuable KBCS is they’d be throwing money their direction! Give it a listen, Paul, or maybe you already do and let me/us know what you think . . . Do you have a favorite KBCS program?

So that’s what you missed. As for the actual walking, well, you can do that anytime. I got the directions right here for you titled College Woods & Radio Walk. LOL!

I don’t know when the next Group Walk will be. I think quarterly Feet First walks might be in order now that Summer is over. We should definitely do another Walk And Dine soon. That was fun. Perhaps a Walk And Dine group should be started . . . what’d’ya think about that one?

It may have been a small walking group, but the company and exercise were super and I was introduced to a terrific radio station in my back yard! I’m sure I’ll find various music programs I enjoy, but I am thrilled that Democracy Now!, Laura Flanders’ GRITtv show, and the BBC news are played daily! I’ve already programmed the station in on my car radio and have it marked on my home radio. I’m a true supporter and will spread the word. Thanks, Connie, for opening my eyes to a wonderful addition to my life. What more can you enlighten me about?

Thank you Alison.

I couldn’t agree more about KBCS 91.3 fm! It is a real Gift and we’re lucky to have them in our neighborhood and a part of OUR community.

As for your further enlightenment . . . well, let’s be brief . . . I like you just the way you are, Alison!
